'If I Stay" with Chloe Grace Moretz

Synopsis : In Oregon, Mia, 17, a young cellist is in the car with her parents and her little brother when they have an accident. The girl fell into a coma and, while her damaged body remains motionless and (almost) lifeless, her spirit, contemplates her family and friends came to visit her. Torn between the desire to join her parents in the afterlife and waking up to find Adam, her boyfriend and her grandparents and other relatives, Mia remembers the moments more or less valuable in her young life, and thought at moments she would have if she stayed. A dilemma between life or death. Mia finds herself invisible to people in the hospital. She knows how to find the strength to find her boyfriend but wants to stay with her parents in heaven.

A very moving film, this is the kind of movie where when a sad moment arrives, we know that we will necessarily drop a tear! This film allows us to ask some questions about the meaning of life, it helps to challenge ourselves.

One would think that as most of the time, film is not quite true to the book and yet the director has succeeded. We could also say that given the intensity of the book, Cutler would struggle to do better. Once again you are wrong, even if the movie is not as good and intense than the book, it is nonetheless really good.

I think that Chloe Grace Moretz is great in this role. Chloë Moretz delivers a just and perfect interpretation of the character of Mia. The actress manages to melt our hearts. Supported by Jamie Blackley, not very known to the general public, tortured rocker and his duet with Moretz glue to perfection. Mireille Enos is beautiful and moving, even if she is set back, just as Joshua Leonard. Moretz is very effective in the lead role and once again proves the wide range of game and character this young actress is able to use.

Already the premise is not to show the film in a boat chronology: the flashbacks are very captivating and very well staged, showing different aspects of Mia's life, her family, her friends and her love life. The flashbacks during her stay in the hospital helps us to project ourselves into the story of the film and its context. Some are very emotional, the film captivated us from beginning to end. Some may not like how the film is mounted. Between the hospital scenes and flashbacks. Sometimes this cut a little emotion. I also think that the car accident is not really prominent. It is supposed to be the cause of this film, but it has been somewhat set aside.

I was deeply touched by the story of this film that tackles a difficult area to operate is "what happens to a person in a coma?".

Beautiful cinematic moments, a very powerful and heavy scenario, well-written dialogues and a very beautiful love story. A charismatic cast of characters and contrasting musical moments between Mia's love for classic and passion of her boyfriend, Adam, to rock and punk. Unlike some films, it is not the love between Mia and Adam which is at the center of the story (even if it's important in the film) but it's the music. I really loved this atmosphere between rock'n'roll accompanied by classical music. As an adaptation film, If I Stay is a pleasant surprise. A poetic and moving film, which allows viewing.

This film offers a story full of poetry and philosophy despite the obvious tragedy that shows throughout the script. Besides the love story and Mia's fight, the music takes an important place in this film. I think that the scene of the Julliard audition is totally perfect! As well as the scene where everybody is around the fire! And anyway, the music and the strongest point of the film, the B.O.'s magic!!

A film that I recommend you to watch at least once for you lovers of emotions and touching movies...

For the rest you have to trust me...
May the odds be ever in your favor...
