The Other Woman : our review!

And a new romantic comedy for Cameron Diaz! The opportunity for her to find a genre in which she excels and which allows her to regularly monopolize the podium of the highest paid actresses, so why miss out? For her, no reason to do so. But for us, poor spectator, sometimes it wont be so bad .

1) The gags below the belt too heavy, people working in the special effects had to be proud of being hired to design a shit, computer generated.

I feel that to provoke laughter, current US comedy feel forced to leave in the audible or visual upmanship. Yet I have nothing against vulgarity. The proof, I loved the movie "Ted".

2) The film is long to start and pace is poorly managed. It puts a lot of time to put in place: it is in fact 1:15 before the three women decide to join forces and make drooling Marc. But this is the main argument of the film.

So in the end, it holds only a handful of minutes. So we stuck with over an hour to ultimately spend less than half an hour (including termination) on what makes the interest of the film.

Worse, this is sometimes mistreated. For example, replace the shampoo of Marc by depilatory cream (hilarious) results in a big hair loss in clumps but it stops there. The very next scene, Marc keeps the same hottie cutting ... 

Another example, when Carly puts laxative in his whiskey: in addition to having a flash effect (such mega shits in two seconds), Marc has a strange reaction : instead to head immediately to the bathroom, he prefers to leave the institution with Carly ... In short, it is a detail but it makes the revenge less well put together.

Everything is not too bad tho. 

For example, I found it interesting that "The other woman" avoids the triple trio nozzles cliche: women are not victims of adultery but take things in hand. Especially when at the end of the revenge in question is pretty bloody and cruel.

In general, the film allows viewing without much sighing or dozing despite the low number of smiles (s).

And the film offers little scenery based on Bahamas or New York and its beautiful buildings.

Cast aside, Cameron Diaz is comfortable in that same role she plays for about 20 years.

Leslie Mann exasperates me more than she amuses me because of her cutesy voice, nasal and acute (her first crisis on the workplace of Cameron Diaz made me twist the ears).

Kate Upton, is very pretty.

Nevermind the reason that pushed me to watch this movie, let's say I have my moods, yeah buddy, and I like to watch comedies with every indication that they will be disastrous.

Especially since in this branch, Cameron Diaz really seems stubbornly defending her steak. After "Bad Teacher" and before "Sextape", it would have been cool to have a humorous film to defend ... well, it will not be this film, anyway. The Story: Jaime Lannister is trying cinema, determined to trample the hearts of our Dulcineas by his killer smile. To make his entrance, he set his heart on Cameron Diaz. 

The two are a couple, all is well until Cameron discovers that her beautiful Apollo has a wife in the presence of Leslie Mann. Against all odds, the two women become friends and decide to take revenge on the impudent Jaime.

With such a history, we were not sure the film would find an interesting dimension. Well, it still felt a million miles away, the comic based on the character's personality Leslie Mann, for example. This is unfortunately not the only road out of the film, which accumulates stupid and horribly long sequences. Gag side, so it is not quite that, blame the lack of originality situations. As everything is rather heard, and quickly enough, we understand perfectly where the film will come and we can afford to smile from time to time, but without really laughing. Oh no.

Especially a good comedy - this is a personal opinion - works on the character and the acting. And again, this is clearly not the party. Let's start with Leslie Mann. Ha, Leslie. You made, efforts. I do not know your filmography, confess everything to you.

I discovered you in this first film. I was surprised by your dynamism and I do not expect this kind of emergency you had during each sequence, as if the whole film only weighed upon your frail but pretty shoulders. Result, you're completely not acting really well, almost all the time, your every move seems to have been calculated to be exaggerated. The funny effect on the act of Cameron Diaz, it's  that she looks almost sober  in your comparison. That is, until she felt contaminated by  you're hysteria, you become you both quite devastating typhoon. 

Even Kate Upton looks more measured. At the same time, the poor seems to know that everyone is going to treat her as a bitch and suddenly, she seems perfectly fulfill in it's role. In truth, one might say that besides the two that are in excess, her minimalist style is pretty neat. Finally, for his first appearance in the cinema, no doubt that I advice Jaime  not to try this kind of role which not only makes it look like a perfect asshole - this is the game! - But as a bonus, the script prepares him some pure ridiculous scenes where the poor man finds himself having to play like an idiot, coasting mode. 

I hope you find something better to put you in the tooth.

I accused the script, then. Well, besides the excessive slowness of the place in history, we must admit that not much happens there. Once the action carried on rails, the two girls welcome a third young woman, Kate. The character development is pretty basic too, Leslie remains foolish from the beginning to the end, but at least at the end, she becomes independent.
