The 100 2x09 : our review

Wednesday night the American channel The CW aired episode 9 of season 2 of The 100, entitled "Remember Me". Discover our review of the return of the tv show!

That's it, the tv show « The 100 » is finally back! A very nice start for the second half of the season that starts on the consequences of the death of Finn. From the beginning, we see that Clarke is very affected by what she had to do and the whole section devoted to mourning Finn was handled very well.

The young man keeps popping up in the mind of Clarke and it's very difficult for her to handle this situation. Since Clarke sacrificed Finn, Lexa decides he must be buried in their own way: burning in the camp where he committed the murders.

Clarke, who doesn't want to put the alliance in danger accepts and even participates in the incineration, saying, as is the tradition "your fight is over" in the language of the grounders. Then Lexa explain to Clarke that she experienced the same pain and that love is a weakness and that if she wants to heal her pain, she must not focus as much on others. For Clarke, it is inconceivable to not love the people who are around her.

While they are about to celebrate the alliance in toasting, the bodyguard of Lexa is poisoned by the drink offered by Marcus. Everyone accuses immediately the people of the Ark and suspicion focused primarily on Raven because they find poison on her. Then the grounders meet to discuss about the sentence to be applied. They finally decide to kill Raven, as an example, but that's not all, they also break the alliance.

But we obviously know that Raven will survive and indeed, at the last moment Clarke (or rather Finn) discovers the truth: it is not the bottle that Marcus offered which was poisoned but the glass. Bellamy FINALLY understands that it is the bodyguard who poisoned Lexa. He did that for show to Lexa that this alliance will cause her death.

Finally it is he who is sacrificed and the alliance is back on the agenda. We actually feel that peace between the two peoples is fragile and they are not trusting each other.

Meanwhile, at Mount Weather, Monty, Jasper, Maya and Miller decided to take things in hand. They are trying to send a radio message to their people. While they manage to reach the cables to convey their message, they discover that all communications are blocked. The only way to unlock them is to go to the control room, that Monty will do, risking his own life.

Indeed, while he almost to get out, he is betrayed by his lack of knowledge of the base and is captured. He find himself in a cage next to Harper who explains him that they have one for each of them. Fortunately, he still managed to send the message, which is now repeatedly broadcast over the airwaves.

Clarke, Bellamy, Raven and others then discover that their friends imprisoned in Mount Weather are still alive.

If at the beginning of the episode, Clarke refused to let Bellamy go to Mount Weather, she suddenly changes her mind and asks him to go. He is surprised by this change of opinion and she replies "I was being weak, that's worth the risk" We understand that this change is not trivial and it implements the advice that Lexa gave her for save her people, she should let her feelings aside.

Similarly, she decided to say goodbye to Finn, saying "love is a Weakness" Clarke really takes the role of the leader in this episode, more than ever, she is completely detached from the people that she cares about it and she only focuses on the overview. This achievement is of great sadness, especially when we all know what she has had to endure and face, but that's only the beginning.

Okay I admit that the episode was great even though I said it was the last time I watch the 100 after the death of finn. Small problem: I have wanted to hear Finn for the last time, I would have liked to hear Clarke tell Finn that she loved him to say goodbye. And if you read that writers, make my dream come true, I want Bellamy dead please, thank you!

The return of The 100 is pretty much a success that promises great things for the future. What did you think of this episode?
